Occoquan, Virginia Military Tribute Banner Program

THIS PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING NEW SUBMISSIONS.

VFW Post 7916 and the Town of Occoquan will honor US military veterans with patriotic banners sponsored by family and friends as a testament to the veteran’s service to the nation, state, and local community. These beautiful banners will be displayed in the historic district of Occoquan from Memorial Day through Veterans Day. 

If you are sponsoring more than one honoree or banner and would like them to be displayed at the same location please indicate that on your application. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request.

~ DISPLAY PERIOD ~
Memorial Day through Veterans Day 2026
(Exact dates subject to change without notification.)

~ DISPLAY LOCATION ~
Displayed on 30 utility poles throughout the historic district of Occoquan.
Up to 10 utility poles can display two banners.
~ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ~
Space is limited to 40 banners, so once poles are filled, future sponsors will be placed on a wait list.
Sponsorship rates cover costs associated with fabrication, shipping, installation, and maintenance. Any surplus funds will be used to support VFW operations and to make donations to charitable organizations that support veterans. Once the display period ends Sponsors will have the option of keeping the banner as a memento or storing it with the VFW.
Renewal of Sponsorship 
Renews a sponsorship using the banner previously displayed.
 
Replacement of Banner plus Renewal of Sponsorship
Renews a sponsorship and replaces a banner that is worn, faded or damaged.
